I know the AMD ones are leak/rumoured/unconfirmed, but on the basis of these specs which would produce more fps at 1440p?

Is it going to be the same situation as now with the current 980 vs 390x?

It was more of a talking point than a serious question. I'm buying neither I just thought it would be an interesting discussion.
