I have an i7-920 from my very old pc where the mobo died. I don't know if the cpu still works and i want to test it without buying an old (and expensive ) mobo online that might not even work. Is there anyway i can feed it a current through certain contact points to see if it gets warm so i know it works?

Thanks

Evin

Well sure, you just hook up some power to a couple pins. Just don't expect that CPU to ever work again....

There is no solution for you to test it your self, but what i would do is go to a local small sized computer store and ask if they have a mobo for your i7 920 were you can test it in.

You would think Ubisoft would support the Bulldozer based architectures more given their digging themed names like bulldozer, Piledriver, Steamroller and Excavator.
