Don't think of water resistance as a selling point but rather a marketing strategy. It's absolutely meaningless.

The Mali T880MP4 is weaker than the Mali T760MP8... i say thats pretty poor, considering the Helios X25 is an overclocked version of the X20 and its gpu is weaker than a 1 year old Exynos 7420, which still kicks a lot nowadays...

yeah, mediatek doesn't focus on gpu performance, their main focus is cpu and battery life savings.

Well I would argue. Considering how many iPhone users before the iPhone was water resistant, went to the Genius bar with water damaged devices. It's meaningless when you  are diligent and don't get your phone wet, but priceless when it saves your butter.

Water resistance doesn't mean your phone won't die from water nor does it mean the manufacturer will cover water damage. Because of that, it's completely worthless.

The likelihood of water damage it is lower provided that the water resistant features are not tampered with. That in itself is worth something to someone. Just because it's worth nothing to you, doesn't mean it isn't worth anything to someone else.

Yea, that's true. But my main point is that because the manufacturer doesn't stand behind their statement nor do they cover it under their warranty, it's risky subjecting your phone to water where it probably won't harm it, but it is still possible. So in the event that your phone does become water damaged, you won't be a happy customer. I've owned my water resistant phone for a little over 2 months now and I haven't even let it go near water and don't intend on doing so in the future; it's just not worth it.
