Editing- not edition. 'Edition' means 'version' or 'iteration', like a 'limited edition' graphics card, or a 'special edition' game.

I used AVCHD and iMovie on the mac. I bought Sony Movie Studio 13 Platinum for a pittance on Steam, and it was extremely easy to get used to, with features and functionality far beyond iMovie. Just make sure you shoot in 30p, as 60i will cause massive interlacing issues that Movie Studio hasn't been able to remove completely, or without disgusting frame-blending.

Unfortunately, there are no good free programs that support the AVCHD audio codec. HitFilm 4 is one of the best video editing programs out there, and it's free, but you have to buy the audio codec unlocked for $20, which is too much. Alternatively, just don't shoot in AVCHD format if you can help it.

Furthermore, beware of the Dell Inspiron 7559. As many as 10% of reviewers received defective laptops or laptops that straight-up broke a few days after purchase. The deal really is too good to be true- and unfortunately, it isn't 'true' either, with its massive quality-control problems.
