Built in speakers on my asus monitor

Ok so my asus built in speakers arenot working they show up on the audio device select but when i selected it it didnot work as in it shows that there is sound playing on the monitor but no sound comes out of the speakers i have changed the hdmi cable and uninstalled and reinstalled the audio devices so now idk what to do pls help

Make sure the volume is turned up on the monitor itself (not in your sound properties).
