I'm new to this forum. Here goes nothing! I just want to know if an R9 280x custom backplate would fit on my R9 270x cards. I hate the look of the back and want to  put in a custom designed backplate but here in China I haven't been able to find one. Closest I've seen is the R9 280 & 280X. Thanks! I will be posting my build log soon, when I finish up my custom water cooling loop.

I think not, since the PCB on the 280x is bigger, and laid out  a bit differently, so the holes won't align.

@Fulgrim thanks buddy what about the 7970? I heard that the 270x is a rebrand of that.

Your 280x backplate should fit on a HD7970, at least looking at the compatibility list i found here, for an EKWB backplate

270X > 7870, not the 7970

@don_svetlio so its the 7870?

The 270X is a highly binned and heavily OCed 7870.
