Torn between PS4 BF4 and PC BF4 and the fact that I have problems with PC games.

threadysparrow

GTA 4 was a bad game in general and the PC version was still the best Version.

If you think the Pc version is bad then you should try the Console Version its even worse.

The halph player count in Multiplayer, constant 25-30Fps,really bad Controlles, the graphics are terrible, there's wierd Motion blur while driving ect.

And you have no Mods.

I would say go with the Pc Version it will be like always the best Version of Battlefield.

i played it on xbox for years, it imo it was a much better experience and the controls are really good, i suck on pc if im not using a xbox controller

I think you should pre-order now on PC, I have heard rumors of EA jacking up the price of retail to $80 on release.

1. PC versions of games are better period

2. PSN/XBL communities are virtual sewers, PC isn't much better but it isn't as bad as console communities

3. You will most likely be able to run the game fine

4. Learn the keys, remap them to your liking, or get a mouse with a sh*tton of buttons and macro them

He can also get the xbox remote plugin (unofficial) and map it to his liking on any game that isn't supposed to support the xbox remote lol.

what made GTA IV suck so much on pc anyway? I keep hearing how it was a crappy port etc, but with a few official patches it was amazing and the graphics were better than consoles, also you could use the xbox remote so what makes the xbox version any different aside from the fact that modding for xbox you need an RGH system and that the graphics are lower?

Its not optimized at all, i cant keep a solid 60 fps with the latest updates i usually get ~30-45 but thats after adding commandline.txt and defragging the game folder

odd, I don't drop below 59 fps (vsync on) I do tweak all of my games though, so idk the graphics are great, the graphics are maxed out in settings and everything is smooth sailings.

I was also talking online, I've tried it both ways, I don't drop below 59 (only reason I do drop to 59 is because of vsync)

it's not but the game runs at 80-100 fps without Vsync which causes tearing on my screen and GTAs Vsync jumps around between 59-60 fps trying to limit the frames.

I get 60 frames at 1080p on a dual core APU. Ask me how.

This brings up another issue. I have trouble finding friends on PC games. On Xbox 360 and PS3, it was fairly easy because you would meet someone else with a mic and add them to your friends list on that console. Everything was built in. On PC, you have to find a VOIP service, then find the lobby for whatever game you are in, and then type an argument with people in the game that you are having trouble connecting, or you can't find the chat room. And half of the time nobody is talking or anything because they are all a bunch of randoms.

That has been the primary factor in turning me away from PC games. That and the fact that the mouse/keyboard combo is hard for me because I have to look down at the keys and then try and remember what crouch or jump is or something because everything has it's own key.

Steam's VOIP is pretty solid (in my opinion) and there's Razer Comms and the like. Also most games come with in game chat which can be much nicer some times.

The whole mouse and keyboard issue is something msot people struggle through when fully switching to regular PC play, but no different than learning to use your controller for the first time. I noticed this greatly when introducing people to video games. It's merely a time and comfort relationship. As time spent using the platform increases, so does the comfort you have with it.
