Hi all looking for opinions and suggestions on my first build. Would like to use this for gaming and general living room shenanigans like video streaming. I tried to go with a black and blue theme as much as possible so if there's parts you think would be more aesthetically pleasing, list them, http://pcpartpicker.com/p/Y7D6nQ. Budget is around $1000

 

My other question is should i save a little money and go to an i5-6500?

I'd wait a few weeks and buy a GTX 1070, you'll get much, much more performance for basically the same price.

Thanks for the heads up i didnt even know about the 1070. The anticipation is going to kill me but ill try to find something else that occupies my time.

I would keep SSD and HD  separate and not Hybrid.

At least if one of them blows you save something.

Like Dizmo said, wait for the new GPUs coming out. AMD might have something very interesting under 299USD early next month!

If you can affor 449USD for the 1070, I'd go for it. but Im not so sure if you will be able to find those at 379USD. Just like the 1080 will only be available at 699 the founder edition. the 599 is just a reference price for possible partner cards.
