I have always wanted to build a pc and I realise it is hard to build in a small case but it is the only way I can join the pc commuinity as I need portability as I travel up and down from college each week, I'm hoping with tutorials and patience I can build one. Basically I'm looking for a slim pc build that will do 1080p 60fps for AAA games. I travel up and down from college every week so the pc will be coming with me (hopefully). I have been searching through cases and parts for weeks now so I decided I really need help!! After reading reviews and looking at videos (linus tech tips and the likes) I am very worried about some slimline cases out there as some can get very hot ( node 202) so what do you reckon about the silverstone rvz01b and the rvzo1e? I was also looking at the silverstone ftz01...

also since the 1070 will be coming out soon, i was hoping to use that in my build. It is probably overkill but I'd like to use it for future proofing. Any help/input is greatly appreciated :)

Parts I have in mind are here http://pcpartpicker.com/p/kFvMf7

looks quite good. i would maybe go with a 2,5" hdd or one big ssd for cable management.

have you thought of a laptop? because if your traveling every week carrying all the cables and display could become quite annoying. it doesnt have the same performance in games but something like a dell 7559 wouldnt be a bad choice.

I suggest going for a mini - itx motherboard in a mini itx case which will make it as small as possible. I would also like to suggest a nuc or a zotac zbox. The links are below.

U can also get an intel core i7 NUC which will have iris pro graphics which is capable of playing aaa titles at medium settings with easily 60 fps. I would easily recommend u a Skull Canyon NUC like the one below.

Thanks guys.  I already have a laptop that can play games on low to medium settings so I don't really need a new one.  This is more to bring around with me like an xbox or ps4, so it'll be plugged into a TV with steam big picture mode. The main thing I'm worried about is cooling on a slim case.

Yeah iI saw that.  Only problem is that I don't really like the cube design.  I'd prefer a slim build similar to the xbox one (not really slim but anyway ?)

I put down the  the gtx970 but I'm waiting until the 1070 come out because I might go with that if the reports are accurate.  Is an i7 not overkill for a gaming/htpc build?

Yeah maybe. But it is perfect for running AAA Titles at high res on ultra settings with AA disabled. It is also in a small form factor with that skull canyon NUC. So if u are into intense gaming I would recommend that over everything else. But if u think I helped or at least tried to help. Please lend me a thumbs-up so that I can continue to help you and other members of this forum. Thank You ?
