Option 1 or 2?

Hey guys! I've got some money to spend and I'd like to upgrade my pc (also because my old hardware can go to a friend who buys it).

I currently have Gigabyte Z97, i5 4590 and 8GB RAM

 

EDIT: In some games (GTA5, Arma3), my CPU is being used 90%-100% all the time

 

But what upgrade will be the best option?

 

 

Option 1:

 

 

 

 

Option 2:

 

The pc will be used for gaming and video editing (not much, sometimes just for fun.)

And also, if I upgrade my pc, will I need to re-activate Windows 10 again?

Comes down to the mobo and ram. Never heard of Geil brand.

first one as long as you don't oc as hell

 

you may have to reactivate it yes

 

 

but don't expect a huge performance gain. I'd rather get one of the new gpus

get the first option there is barely a difference between the tomahawk and the gaming version of the msi z170a motherboard and you get more ram with the first option.

I'm already getting a GTX1070. I sold my MSI GTX970 for €275, and I bought it for €300 about 6 months ago

Do you mean the mobo isn't that good for OC'ing? Or cooler? I have a CM Hyper 212EVO.

I put it up on Dutch Ebay, (now as reserved, as it's sold) and I got 1 reaction that he wanted to buy it for €120!! Like wtf so low!

I think GeIL is a European/Russian brand, it's a pretty big brand. http://www.geil.com.tw/home

i just checked my local supplier, and indeed they do carry them... pretty coo looking pcb's aswell

 

sadly here they are more expensive then Kingston, so i doubt ill get the chance to check them out

I've never had GeIL RAM too, but I think it's just a standard brand. I heard that they're not bad at all.

I guess the m5 is a class above the entry level, the tomahawk seems to be entry level. But you are limited by the cooler anyhow. You might get with the m5 a few mhz more

There's only a hand full of manufacturers making ram chips so running into bad ram is rare these days. Geil is most likely fine. Seem to have mostly positive reviews.

option 1, extra ram will be useful when video editing plus saves you needing more for awhile
