Web browsing / Streaming PC

Hey everyone,

 

I have been tasked with buying a family room computer for web browsing, streaming, holding pictures, and that sort of stuff.  I want it to have a little power to keep the wait times down (8gb of ram may be a little much).  Here is what I came up with.

The stuff you may or may not need to know:

 

Price: $500-$600

Monitor:  I plan on using 1 1920x1080 monitor.

Case:  I have the 300D in this set up, but any clean black case will work.

 

 

I don't know much about the AMD apu lineup, but I went ahead and picked one out that seemed to fit what I need.  If there is one that would be better let me know.

5800k is a bit overkill, an a4 should be fine but *shrug* your choice

Yep, that looks like a totally solid build but I would suggest a case that is a little smaller, something along the lines of the fractal design define mini, it would keep the sound down and also won't be as hugemungeous.

If you're looking for a family room PC you should probably go for an HTPC, small, efficient and usually cheaper. Get an AMD apu, a FM2 itx board, and a small chassis.
