For $200 you would be able to get a new Pro Ject Essential II turntable.

And those are pretty good for the price.

Else, I can recommend the Audio Technica turntables. Again, you should be able to get a new AT-LP120USBHC for around $200.

Or you could get the higher end Audio Technica turntables used for the same price.

Remember to look for the type of pickup the turntable use.

If the one you chose has a moving coil pickup, then you also need a pre-amp.

Do you know a good store to buy from in Denmark?

Hmm, that's a tough one. I rarely buy anything from local stores.

I know HiFi Klubben sell turntables, but they are really over priced. Power also sell turntables, but I can't really comment on the quality of the ones they sell.

You could also look at local flee markets. While most sellers have caught on to the recent vinyl trend, you can still find turntables for a decent price.

Hell, I got my Denon DP-15F for 100 kr. at a flee market.

Denon DP-15F is on DBA for 550kr xD It would be so sweet if I could find something good for 400-500kr used, because that way I can get more records xD

As I said, the sellers have caught on to the vinyl trend, and they have inflated their prices accordingly.

But seeing how the flee market season is starting, I would attend a few and be on the lookout for turntables.

DBA is not a bad place to look either.

But remember to look for the pickup type. If you buy a turntable like the Denon DP-15F you also need a pre-amp, which can be annoying.

And do youself a favour and don't get into record collection. It is a hobby that will end up consuming you.

You can get cheap/free records though. I just got a stack of Brahms on Craigslist for free

And many (older) receivers have a built in pre amp.

Usually the records I'm interested in don't come for free or cheap.

See if you can find a mint copy of the blood edition of Remains Of A Ruined Dead Cursed Soul.

I see records as something you listen to first and as collectors items second. I don't really see the point of picking up a stack of cheap (or free) records that I won't listen to.

But obviously you can.

And yeah, most recivers to have pre-amps, but I still thought I should mention it.

It would suck to buy a record player and then not be able to hear a thing becuase you didn't buy a pre-amp.

I haven't heard it, so I can't really comment.

But from what I have seen it seems very basic. You can't install a counter weight by the looks of it and the cartridge is non-replacable.

While that isn't necessarily bad, it can be annoying.

And one more thing: If you end up looking used make sure that the turntable comes with spare needles.

Needles for old turntables can be a bitch to track down, and if that fails you need a new cartridge.

Technics SL1200 but you probably not gonne find those used for $200,-

I personaly have 2 Stanton's ST-150´s these are very highquality and good turn tabels.

I could recommend those.

There are also Stanton STR8-150 which are allmost similar to the ST-150.

But the STR8-150 has a straight arm, and is specialy designed for scratching.

I think that I have narrowed it down to Marantz TT-5005 or Pro-Ject Elemental, since they seem pretty okay/good for the price and they are just plug and play. I can't really find anything used that I can get for a okay price.
