I have a coworker at work that streams on a console to an el-gato capture card to his laptop, but said his laptop doesn't quite cut it.

He doesn't plan on gaming on the PC, so I'd assume just a mediocre GPU with a good CPU will be plenty for the build?

I have an i7 6700 (non K) coming in the mail that I bought the other day off ebay that I can sell him for cheap, so I figured that covers the CPU area.

Has anyone ever built something like this?  If so, what would you recommend?

Stuff:  i7 7700k @ (dat nibba succ) | ASRock Z170M OC Formula | G.Skill TridentZ 3600 c16 | EKWB 1080 @ 2100 mhz  |  Acer X34 Predator | R4 | EVGA 1000 P2 | 1080mm Radiator Custom Loop | HD800 + Audio-GD NFB-11 | 850 Evo 1TB | 840 Pro 256GB | 3TB WD Blue | 2TB Barracuda

that 6700 will be more than fine for it, i would throw in a decent but not crazy gpu like a 960 or something if that is within his budget, 8 or 16 gb or ram if found for a good price and slap it all in whatever decent motherboard is on sale. If he has a budget get an SSD, but if not, and because hes streaming, and i assume saving his stream footage, grab a large capacity HDD. Kinguin has windows 10 pro keys for like 30 bucks also. This way he gets a good PC that he can game on decently if he chooses to, and can do whatever he wants with the stream footage no problem and will last for a while. A little overkill for his needs but still decently priced IMO.
