I'm using the cheap z313s (bought for like 29 dollars) which work pretty darn fine for my small computer room (although they are inferior to my HD558s)

If you're listening to music then a surround sound set is pointless. Anything beyond 2.1 isn't really necessary. 

 

If you want good speakers with a sub then Thonet and Vander has a few good options for you.

My account is almost entirely dormant. Hope you all are having a grand time. Many years of fun were had here.
