Hey Guys,

So I just had a Windows Update come in last night on the 14th of May.

Well when i woke up today i saw that there was sound coming from my laptop even though nothing was playing

Opened up the Volume mixer to discover these "Name Not Available".

No extensions except for Adblock running and little to none 3rd party softwares. I use this laptop for League, CSGO and web browsing.

This happened when I had updated to WIndows 10 a while back but the problem went away.

Any permanent solutions would be appreciated.

What kind of sound is playing? Are they ads? Satanic verses? Static noise?
Look at at your Start Up tab in task manager, is there anything that shouldn't be there? Or a software that's running but shouldn't be? Does this happen right when you boot windows or after a little bit? Did you try turning it off and on again?

Its ads that are playing.

So it's an Adware, run malwarebytes then, it will most likely find it.

But that's not Windows that installed that, it means you clicked something you shouldn't have on the web before windows rebooted to install the updates and now you have ads.

Ok.

Could you send a reliable link for the download?

https://www.malwarebytes.org/mwb-download/thankyou/
right from the malwarebytes website. No need to activate the "premium" trial.

Minor Update:

It is running and has found some Trojans,,,,,,no idea where they came from

These days, simply browsing the web without an ad blocker can often result in your PC getting infected with bad stuff, even if you don't click on anything.
It's unfortunate for legitimate websites, but as long as some websites do not curate the ads that goes up on their sites and just take whatever shady ad that is willing to pay them the most money, ad blocking is a necessity and is essentially your first line of defence on the web.
But you can always whitelist the websites you believe deserve the ad money and aren't shady ads like "meet singles in your area" and what not.
