I was booting up my pc when it blue screened and said bad system config info error. i have run into this error only a week ago and had to reset windows, i am wondering if their is any other way to fix this without having to reset windows again.

You can try repairing windows from an installation disc although I'm willing to bet it won't help. Alternatively if you have/had a full periodic backup of your C:\ drive you could reinstall over your current config. Think of it like refreshing to an earlier version. If critical windows files have corrupted and a windows repair doesn't help I'd off load your important data to a different drive format your C:\ drive reinstall windows and replace all your data. I'm concerned though that it might corrupt again. Is this your first time seeing the error, or have you dealt with this before? Something in your system might be corrupting data and if it happens again I'd try a new HDD.

I got the pc to boot into read only mode and ran chkdsk, and it came up with quite a few corrupt files , but didnt fix them as it is in read only mode. i will try to do chkdsk in safe mode, to see if that helps at all. i have a feeling it might be my disk drive, as it doesnt read or write, and the pc has only had these errors after i installed it.
