Hard drives?

Hi I'm looking to buy another hard drive I already have a ssd in my computer. Its not very big so I'm looking to buy a bigger one. Somewhat of a WD shill here, but I have that drive... it's been nothing but excellent. It was dropped before installation (not by me... by a parent.) and it's still good and works great (according to SMART.) I can post a speed test of it if you'd like. As for keeping the data -- RAID is not perfectly safe and should not be approached as such. If you need to back it up and have very slim to none chances of losing it, store multiple copies of it in multiple places (not all on your PC).

I didn't realize they had a Purple until the other day.
Now that they finalized the SanDisk acquisition, I wonder what colors they will use on the SSD's.

Yeah, that's a good drive. I honestly would stay away from raid for a backup and just have the two new drives separate and some software to sync the two drives (not RAID). That or have a external hard drive be your backup. RAID is not a backup.

The WD Re line is now WD Gold. I do wonder what color they will claim next though.

Haha, I hope they don't color code the Sandisk SSDs. I like the simple black finish they have (Though I wish they would use metal SSD cases instead of plastic). I own several Extreme 2s and one Extreme Pro SSD.

I have the WD Blue 1 TB too, but if I had the change back when I bought it, I would've probably gone for the 2 TB model, that wasn't out yet.

My only complain about my specimen is that its warranty is invalid because it was sold in a region different from that where it was originally shipped to.
