Graphics Cards

iWearKiltz
Go to solution Solved by Coombzy,

1.yes due to the new cards

2.it will compete with a GTX TItan for much cheaper

3.the 7970 really competes with the 770 the 780 is better in this case.

so i had originally planned for the 780 to be in my updated build (info in my build log link in sig.) but then i saw this 7970 @ £260. this is the lowest ive seen it in england, so before you bash saying it can be had cheaper just consider that

will the card be coming down even further in price?

will the next flagship card but at a competitive price?

is the 7970 much of a step down compared to 780?

im interested to know :P

I would disagree with that.  Most of the specs I have seen place the R9-290X at just over a Titan (at lower TDP and a smaller die), but I have also seen a  780 perform just above a Titan.  I would argue that the 780 and the R9-290X will be at a similar level of performance (of course I would say overclocking has to be considered as early benchmarks might not have taken that into account).  The R9-290X will be at a $50 or so lower price point though!

the Titan mostly beats out the 780 and AMD also has a boost in different games. (BF4) so i think the R9-290X will destroy because thats how it always goes...

the 580 launched, then the 7970 beat it. then the 680 launched and the 7970 beat it most of the time.

the 7970 has trumped TWO Nvidea generations... AMD wont loose the crown this round
