Nah, an hour would be more than enough I would think to test for stability and heat issues... if any.

Depends on the programs, but mostly they are just for stress testing the system to see if anything needs changing rather than looking for numbers as such.

around 9~10k pts in firestrike (3DMarK) if you didnt overclock your cpu and gpu

i got 10.5k with my i5 6600 (non-k) and gtx 970 oc-ed to 1500+ghz

my results are from clean environment so yours may be lower

Oh ok, more for making sure temps are right and that the system does not crash?

How long should I run them for?

Until your temps are stable

Around 15 to 30 minutes usually

For AIDA64 I normally stress for an hour or 2 to properly test for stability, and if you're OC'ing don't forget that the ambient temp in the room may be a factor if it's not "normalised" by A/C to a constant temp... in other words if it's a fairly low ambient temp (winter) that you may want to have a little leeway in your max temps for summer time, unless you want to either have your machine/program crash or re-do your OC again in summer time. You could obviously have 2 OC profiles in your BIOS, one for winter and 1 for summer if the temps are very erratic like in the UK. I don't bother, I just make sure I have around 10-15C leeway in my max temps. If you're actually just trying to see what OC you could get though, I'd only test for approx 20-30 mins for stability, then carry on with bumping up the multiplier, then when you get a crash when testing for stablity you know to either increase the voltage to stabilize the OC, or decrease the multiplier to where it was previously stable.

Usually people start with a moderate OC, so maybe start at about 44 multiplier for the 6600, see if it posts... run the stress tests, and then start over. Before doing any overclocking make sure you have all the drivers etc up to date and have a stable system in the first place, it's no good trying to overclock a system that isn't stable IMO.
