I would like to start doing YouTube and Streaming but my Internet speed is very bad (8 Mbit down and 1.5 Mbit up) and I want to improve that but I don't know if the Internet provider or my modem or router is limiting my speed. If Enyone knows this plz tell me.

Call your ISP

8Mb down will help you play youtube in full HD no problem....uploading might be an issue..

talk to your ISP to see if they have any plans which you can subscribe to...I heard Holland has pretty good internet packages so you'll be able to find one pretty easily yes?

I don't know how that shit works in the netherlands, but here in Norway we pay for speed. So you might actually have to look into upgrading your speed by throwing more money at your provider or changing your provider all together, preferably go for fiber optics if available. However, old inferior modem and router can and will limit your speed. It depends on what router and modem you have.

I once explained to my girlfriend what true love is. I said, "If you were a shit, I'd put you back in" and to this day, she is still my little shit.

how much money do you have that you can spend on tv/internet?

32,5 euros per month gets you 50/50 internet

@saunders1991  Chances are that speeds like that are probably being caused by your ISP or the cabling up or into your house. If your router was the bottleneck it wouldn't be as biased to download speed. You are getting very similar speeds to myself in Australia on a copper cable, so if you are on fibre optic I would definitely be speaking to your ISP.

take 15mbps down and 10mbps up it will make streaming smoother then ever, but ask your internet provider and do some research on your modem first and then you could stream in peace. And i hope your computer has internet from a wired cable :D

yea of course I use a LAN cable

Definitely call your ISP and have a word with them. Might be a problem, get them to run all the diagnostics to your hose, like the box on the wall for example outside (well at least that's what we used to have when there was copper cable at my old house...)

When it rained, my internet used to practically die and the speed would just be awful.

If you have fiberoptic, there's definitely a problem.

heb jij glasvezel in je huis? (kun je checken op http://glasvezel-vergelijken.nl)

betaal jij de rekening of woon je bij je ouders? (misschien kijk jij geen tv en heb je geen vaste telefoon nodig, dit bespaard geld)

Just wanted to say I love the Dutch language. It's like part German, part English, part some elven language. Having taken German in high school, stumbling around the Amsterdam airport at 3am local time after flying for ~10 hours, tI could almost understand the signage in Dutch, but not at all at the same time. xD

Good luck getting faster interwebs speed, it sounds like you need to get a new/upgraded ISP. If you have cable service, and your house/apartment is older, you may want to try and get new coax cable ran. Shitty copper = shitty connection. I had lived in a house where our internet would drop about every 4 hours along with horribly slow internet. We called the cable company and they reran the line to the house. Fixed it.
