Ay all,

I am in the market for a microphone that isn't attached to my headset (one that doesn't sound like a potato inside of a tin can). I don't need a studio grade microphone, and don't want to spend a bucket load on it either.I was thinking of spending around $35-$40AUD (around $30USD). I don't really care what kind of mic it is, just as long as it sounds alright.

Cheers,

Ajaz (Ajax) ;)

Don't have a mic but this looks promising, its $36 USD, I don't know how much that is in AUD. The mic also comes with a lot of useful stuff and seems to be reputable.

EDIT: Dang it! The mic is XLR :(. That means you gotta get the thingy that accepts xlr input to your PC (forgot what its called). Or get an XLR to USB adapter which is like another $12 USD.

I bought and use a Sony ECM-CS3 lapel microphone. It's quite good, I'm very happy with the purchase.

I bought it from a South Korean eBay seller almost a year ago for about $31, now I see a Japanese seller listing it for $22 and you can probably find it on Amazon as well.

It's also quite well reviewed on Youtube, just search for  "sony ecm cs3" and you'll find plenty of videos with it.
