Possible Minecraft Server?

I'm looking into making a Minecraft server from a home server. I'm open to suggestions to what to put on it and hopefully allow up to 30 players. The server will be hosted 24/7 If I follow through with this.

Running a 100 down and 50 up. If need be I'll put the server into a data center.

I've run servers before and no one has experienced lag. However those servers never lasted.

*Technically* Running a server on your home internet connection is probably against your ISP's Terms of Service but I highly doubt that they will notice and/or care. If they do notice they would probably just give you a warning to take down the server.

I realize, my isp sucks so bad I really don't care. I've run them before with out issues so I'm not going to worry.

In my opinion, no,  that kinda ruins the experience. I personally like completely vanilla servers, except servers like minigame servers and PVP servers.

Thats one big reason to not make you an admin or mod then.

I was just saying there's a lot of other servers I play on and to add another server to me would be at the point of at least having the chance the become a mod or something.

I am not sure. I would personally like it. But, I would not work on it

I've built a spawn zone that has rules and you spawn with simple tools.
