Only get the more expensive motherboard if you need any of its extra features. Build quality wise they will be mostly the same.

So you're probably better off getting the 6700K and get the better performance. The mobo won't affect performance in any way, it's about more features/utilities.

Edit: Ehh... aesthetics :D If your budget doesn't allow you to get both the performance and the aesthetics, I think you should chose performance :)

6700K. But you cant go wrong with the 6600k too, and if the board matches your setup, I think you should go for that one

Yeah you're right. Its more of a priority thing though. If you have already spent so much in making your setup look nice (color theme and all) then you should splash on a good lukin board. Else, think of the practicality of going with the i7

Well that thing adds to the cost, most I've seen are a little more expensive. But it doesn't add anything else than looks to the table, I think a good looking motherboard without an IO shield would be a great option. Or, save up a little more and don't compromise :)

Tbh, this is a fairly powerful and expensive build, no corners cut. Why not just raise your budget a little bit and get exactly what you want, since you plan on investing that much in the first place? I would surely not trade an I/O shield for a lower tier CPU, but if I spent that much, I'd get it *all* hehe.
