is gtx980 worth the $125 more than the 390x?

in DX12 the 390x out preforms it but in dx11 the 980 wins

I would hold off buying either GPU's and wait for the new pascal GPU's to come out with benchmarks

how do i know which dx i have and why should i wait for the new pascal parts. thanks for the response.

Between the two go 390x. More VRAM and cheaper. If you can wait a 490x will at least match a 390x for 300us, probably a month from having it on the market but no one knows for sure.

DX is determined on which games have it, DX11 about 99% of games utilize it. DX12 though is new and only a few games have it but it will be widely used because its the "next best API version"

 

You should wait for pascal parts because

 

dont take it for granted though, wait for real life benchmarks so we can know the ACTUAL preformance of these cards

i had to decide between the 980 or 390x and i picked the 980 and no downsides in my opinion but wait for pascal
