I recently posted about a dead Z97-WS - received DOA with ddFE showing. So, ASUS RMA'ed it with the first replacement board having a burnt PCI socket. I'm on my second board, which is doing something alarming.

My CPU was overheating a little too much (idle at 55, load would just throttle it down completely) so Intel RMA'ed the CPU too. So, in essence, this is a new CPU/MB combination.

But the CPU temp is showing as 11degC. Yep, 11. Both in BIOS and in ASUS AI Suite BUT CoreTemp is showing seemingly correct temps at idle (mid 30's) but as the BIOS thinks the CPU is at 11degC, the fans won't ramp up.

Opinion on what could be causing this is needed: MB or CPU? Inclined to go with former as CoreTemp is showing correct temps but opinions would be great guys!

I'm blaming the motherboard, my asus Z87-k has a similar issue, it thinks the cpu is always in the high 30's, luckily corsair link and my H100i don't care about that.
