Hello !

So after about 8 years I believe I finally decided it's time for an upgrade. Currently I have: Cpu: I7-930 2.8ghz (non-oc'd) ,Gpu: HD5850 ,MB: x58a-udr3 ,Ram: 6GB(3x2) 1333Mhz. What I'm going for is:

Cpu: I5-6600k(oc'd to 4ghz)

Gpu: Nvidia 1070 or 1080

MB: Asus z170 pro gaming

Ram : Corsair Vengeance LPX 16gb(2x8) 2400Mhz

Cpu cooler: Dark Rock Pro 3

The PSU is still more than enough so no need to replace that. Currently I have a 1080p 60hz monitor but I might look into a 1440p (maybe 4k) later on in the year after I get a stable income hopefully.

I'd like some advice for:

1.I'm unsure about the cpu cooler. A bit reluctant to go AIO due to fear of pump failure/maintenance requirments/only 2x120mm space on top. If there are any suggestions I'd be thankful. I got a mid-tower case if that's of any importance(

 (W x H x D  / 210 x 478 x 510 mm)

2.Since this is really my first build that I do completely on my own I'd like to ask those with more experience if I should go with a 1080 and use it for 4-5 years ,or a 1070 and try to sell it for 100$ in 2 years time and get whatever gpu is 300-400$ at that time.

Any other advice on other components is welcome!

Thank you !

1. The CPU Cooler will be just fine.

2. You mightaswell just go for the 1080 and that will last you ~5 years.

I guess it would be for the best. Would an EVGA Supernova 650w be ok ?

The G2/GS/B2 version yes.
