Creative Audio Control Panel Settings

I have tried enabling and disabling CMSS-3D but I can't notice any difference- what does this setting do?

Also, under performance should I select 16 or 24 bit depth? And 48 or 96KHz sampling rate? I don't really have much experience with sound cards

Set it to 24 bit depth and 96Khz. You might notice some improvement in terms of audio but it also depends on the content you are playing. (if they have good bitrates)

 

I personally dont have any idea what CMSS-3D is sooo I can't really give advise on something I have no experience on.

from what I gathered cmss-3d is a 2 channel > surround feature.

 

as for the bit depth and sampling rate

cd's use 16 bit, 44.1khz

and iirc dvd and blu ray are both 24bit, 48khz

 

unless you are eccentric and are setting it up for a specific task, just max it out
