hello,
I need help with choosing a ups since 6 months ago I didn't even know what they are.
I'm running a services like smb, of a raspberry pi, 5v 1a, and I don't want data to be corrupted because of a power failure,
(already happened before but fortunately I had it backed up, but it may not always be the case)

I wanna connect my router, xbox, tv, receiver, surround sound and raspberry pi to the same ups (I know they have something like half battery half surge protection only, I will connect the router, xbox and raspberry pi to the batteries only)
(because the ones I know from bestbuy and newegg are around 200$ with 6 to 8 outlets and with in my budget)

my main concern is how can I have my raspberri pi do a safe shutdown and soon as the power is gone (and if possible start again if power is back)
and my second concern is not having that super loud beep sound

what ups do you recommend?

also is there a difference between the brands (apc, cypberpower) which one has the best software for a debian linux to manager and do the stuff that I mentioned

Since all of that is fairly low power and I assume you are not hooking up a PC to that something like this would be more than enough including a small PC if you wanted later on all at once:

thanks for replying

but can that turn off the server if power is out?
should I apt-get install something?

also I noticed this one has a controlled by master outlets and I hate those, I got one surge protector with it with out knowing what it was. because "xbox on"  turns everything on and have that makes everything to start or stop when its not supposed to

You don't need to enable the master thing that is optional, and it has a USB connection to communicate with the server to be able to switch it off say if there is an extended power outage.

If your power supply has an active pfc,

I'd recommend a pure sine ups, I had an apc that was giving my pc issues, I think the apc was a modified sine or step sine I can't recall the name

does xbox one or a router or a raspberry pi care for active pfc?

an apc ups would be 100$ and i can install software using apt get

for cyber power we have to download it from a site so updating will be a nightmare and will cost 200$

thanks for the reply
