Well, given what I've learned about pricing in Egypt, I priced the build at about $700. However, I would never pay $900 for this configuration.

In fact, I'd take the risk of asking your uncle to bring the CPU, GPU, RAM, Motherboard, and Storage from overseas. The bulkiest parts are the case and power supply, and you can probably afford to purchase those in Egypt. In fact, that's exactly what I did, except that I had to buy the motherboard locally too.

Thanks alot man! Help greatly appreciated! If i could rate your help or give back some how please tell me as I am new to the forum but you have no idea how much you helped

So, the time has come to build my PC and as anyone would I looked online and found linus and a few other youtubers and for a week Ive been watching tutorials and "as quick as possible" and I think its about time to start planning...

For starters, what am i gonna be using this for?

Well, I do alot of 3D modeling and rendering animations and Ive been taking programming courses for a month now and i would like to take my 3D knowledge and combine it with my newly found programming skill to make a 3D video game....

I know its not gonna be easy but I'd rather not do it on my laptop

I also do some light photoshop and some heavy motion graphics in after effects and to top it all of some "light gaming" not light games but I dont game alot but thats mainly due to my "R5 M230" situation...

Im not looking for any crazy features like water cooling but i want something that runs quiet nicely at 1080p and looks are 100% not a priority.

So I understand that one of the first things to pick out is a CPU so I looked and picked the "i5-6600K" with 4 cores and overclocking ability which should be nice for video encoding and fine for gaming.

Next up, I am adding 2 x 8gb of DDR3 ValueRam clocked at 1600Mhz

Now I come to the motherboard and stare for a minute all that chipset and PCIe bannanas and all motherboards look the same to me i just want one which has a minumum of 2 DDR3 ram slots and overclocking unlocked.

Now we come to the big boy... my GPU after some looking online i found the 970 to be quite ok but then Im thinking of waiting for the 1070 which eill be presumably BETTER THAN A TITAN X!

Then goes a 128 GB Boot SSD and a 500 GB HDD for more storage.

So that leaves a Power Supply (which I have no idea how to pick) , cooling (I dont care about noise) and a case where as I said i dont care about the looks of it.

If I am forgetting anything else please tell me below and help me pick a motherboard and a PSU. Also is the CPU Im picking overkill? Could I get by with an older generation and shave off a few bucks for that GPU? Tell me down below!

All help is greatly appreciated! Thank you all in advance!

Oh, my bad I didnt see the "L" at the end of "DDR3L" in the cpu specs.. should i switch my RAM to DDR4 or will it be more "budget friendly" to switch to a DDR3 designed CPU?

Why don't you start by telling us how much you're willing to spendwhere you live, and what exact programs and games you plan to run.

For example, Adobe programs like Premiere are more optimized for NVidia's CUDA technology, while Sony's programs like Vegas Pro fare better with AMD hardware. Furthermore, if you don't want to play heavy AAA titles and just want to play lighter games like Counterstrike: Global Offensive, League of Legends, Minecraft and the sort, you can buy a cheaper graphics card and spend more to get a 6-core LGA 2011-3 CPU and an X99 motherboard to go with it.

Again, it comes down to how much you can spend, and the availability and pricing of parts where you live.

Living in egypt and having a budget of "8000LE" which roughly turns to 900 usd but if you would like an idea on how much stuff costs here you can use " egprices.com "

I run AAA titles just not most of the time like GTA V and Far cry and tomb raider.

For programs I use adobe premiere CC for video editing and Autodesk Maya for 3D stuff also Photoshop CC for video editing and visual basic and unreal engine, and minecraft ?

You'll probably be better off with an NVidia GPU for premiere. If you only want to run games at 1080p, I'd recommend the GTX 960 4GB. However, prices in Egypt, most of Africa, Saudi Arabia, and the middle-east in general are usually terrible. What countries are you comfortable importing your hardware from?

I dont mind importing from anywhere but with customs here in egypt It ends up about the same cost so the only reason to import something is if its not avaliable here in egypt

Is there someone you know who can bring you hardware from the US, UK, or another country? It's the most favourable option, seeing as you don't have to pay for shipping and import duties. Otherwise, I can send you a part list that's around $800 (leaving $100 to make up for price differences), and you can see if you can buy similar parts in your area.

A quick look around and both the msi and the gigabyte G1 edition of this specific GPU cost 2,500 LE here

God, that's approaching double. Are you sure it isn't cheaper to import them from the UK? Like I said, try and see if someone you know can carry them for you.

Gotta trust me on this one, customs here are ridiculous and with the current political conditions irl usd is now worth about 11 egp...

As i stated above best i could manage is from canada with my uncle but that would involve a risk of shipping that i just dont know about.

Do send me that list and ill have a look at weather the cost would differ much buying from canada, thanks alot for your help too!
