Posted May 8, 2016 I believe the founders version has the new reference cooler. The non founders is AIB partners. I think that's what it is but could be wrong. Posted May 8, 2016 that's a good question. Hopefully we can find out soon. Posted May 8, 2016 From what I know, Founders Edition is just a binned chip. I don't really know of any other difference.
Posted May 8, 2016 I don't think there is anything else than better OC. But I'm still wondering how much you can OC normal card, and how much can that founders edition handle. Posted May 8, 2016 I assume it has a higher TDP and probably binned. Mineral oil and 40 kg aluminium heat sinks are a perfect combination: 73 cores and a Titan X, Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Oil
 Posted May 8, 2016 http://www.gamersnexus.net/news-pc/2427-difference-between-gtx-1080-founders-edition-and-reference Looks like the Founder's Edition is just the new reference cooler, in appearance anyway. That begs the question, what about board partners that make reference models? Posted May 9, 2016 There's a tweet from hardware canucks that indicates a shroud with higher quality materials: https://twitter.com/hardwarecanucks/status/728945197464227840 I think this seems most likely the case, that both editions will have the same shroud with different materials. It doesn't really make sense to have two different shroud designs for a new graphics card.
