Hey Guys,

So I'm planning to run VR in the near future, and I currently have 2 MSI 970s in my PC. Do you think upgrading to one 1080 will be worth it? Since i could sell both cards for around 300€ I wouldn't have to spend a lot of money. Considering that my cards have approximately Titan X performance and the 1080 has a bunch more than that I thought it would be a reasonable upgrade... What's your guy's opinion on that?

Thanks for your answers!

"I was once invited to a party over at a friend's house. At 3 am, I found myself in his room with some friends, overclocking his graphics card. This pretty much is me in a nutshell."

(I'm getting invited to a lot more parties since then, by the way)

I would suggest waiting for independent reviews to come out before dropping any money on a new card. There is always the possibility that these numbers are "exaggerated". They're trying to get you to buy their product after all lol.

Yeah, if it's actually as powerful as we all hope it actually will be then that will be a worthwhile upgrade, but definitely wait for other people not affiliated with Nvidia to run some tests.

Yea I noticed it after posting - I'm new here :'D

Thanks for your opinions! I just doubt I'll get the full price for my cards when the 1080 is out :/

Well the fact that VR can't utilize SLI at the moment, yes I'd say it'd be worth it.

As for my opinion. Would be a money waste, 2 980's are pretty strong for itself. The only reason why I would even upgrade to a 1080 is that you will have a single card instead of 2. Not really fond of SLI/xfire configs.

I would wait, maybe your 2 980's are stronger :) !
