CPU for GTX 1070

I currently have an i3 4170. I would like to stay on the Haswell platform but I could upgrade to Skylake but then it would delay me buying the actual GTX 1070. Suggestions?

Yah I know that but if he has a motherboard that can't overclock there is no sense in suggesting a CPU that can be overclocked.

Yes and i guess the xeon is better for price/performance

the E3 1231v3 is your best bet. Its essentially a locked i7.
