With the paper launch of the gtx 1080 and 1070 will amd release their new gpu's sooner? And will polaris stack up to pascal? I've heard mixed rumors about the polaris 10 some say it's only 390(not x) performance or it is beating the titan x. What have you heard.

If anything we'll just get a sooner paper launch from them and then they'll delay it out to when it was going to be released anyway lol.

 

I'll definitely be waiting for both to hit the shelves and be reviewed before I drop any cash though.

Vega is the high end replacement not polaris which is mid and low range

They will probably have their launch presentation at computex at the end of May. How long after the event will the card be on store shelves? nobody knows.

From demos shown so far it will be competitive. They had a demo of Polaris running the new hitman game maxed out on a 1440 ultrawide  at high frame rates if I remember correctly. That was a while ago and software will improve a bit .

If the rumor about AMD not competing on the same price point is true then expect Polaris to perform like 980 but at $200-$250 price point and much lower TDP.

Vega is meant to replace the Fury X, Polaris 10 is going to replace the 390 and 380 series, and Polaris 11 is meant to replace the r7 370 and r7 360.

Does replace mean same performance or same price point better performance.
