Nvidia Drivers Making OS not bootable

Hi so I've upgraded my friends PC for him

I set him up with Ubuntu and did all the necessary tests to make sure it was stable and it passed but we had trouble getting drivers....

So he wanted Windows 7 64but anyway so i went ahead and installed that for him and when we tried to install the GPU drivers the OS would fail to boot. Windows recovery rolled the machine back and saved us so i tried installing it again and it wouldn't boot after that either.

So now I can't access the OS and have to do a full reinstall.

Am I using the correct drivers? (latest off Nvidia Website)

The system specs are off the top my my head but it is

CPU: Core 2 Quad Q6600 (stock clock)

Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-G41M-COMBO Rev. 2.0

RAM: 4gb kingston ddr2 (tested and stable)

GPU: Gigabyte GTX 650ti Boost 2gb Windforce (tested and stable)

Are you installing the drivers properly?
