Last time I ask about this build, I just would hate to order $1200-$1400 worth of stuff and something isn't the best price for performance or something sucks ass. What do you guys think? http://pcpartpicker.com/p/TwRLVn also my case is a nzxt h440 (it came in today actually :D)

In general, it's a good build, but it depends on what you'll use it for

i7 4790k | MSI Z97S SLI Krait Edition | G.Skill Ripjaws X 16 GB | Samsung 850 EVO 500 GB | 2x Seagate Barracuda 2TB | MSI GTX 970 Twin Frozr V | Fractal Design R4 | EVGA 650W

A gaming PC for your budget: $800 - $1000 - $1500 - $1800 - $2600 - $9001

Remember to quote people if you want them to see your reply!

Not exactly best price for performance for gaming, but before I pull my recommendation out of my list, could you tell us:

Your budget: Is it $1200-1400, or your part list just happened to fall in that price range?

Your use cases

Number of monitors you have, and their resolution. Or what resolution will you play games at.

Any old PC you have, and if so, what is its specs?

The problem is that this is an nVidia product and scoring any nVidia product a "zero" is also highly predictive of the number of nVidia products the reviewer will receive for review in the future.

Replaced somethings with better cost to performance variants... quad channel ddr4 means ram speed no longer matters (if you use 4 sticks). Plus I took the time fix color coordination:

I like it, couple of questions tho. I like the whole 4x4gb ram, but not a big fan of the white(I've got a black and red build theme) do you know if I could get those in black maybe? Also the psu, I understand 750w maybe being to much, but 550w seems to low especially if I end up upgrading something, thoughts on that?

Go with Corsair Vengeance or Kingston HyperX Fury etc as they come in Black.

If you are going to be overclocking then I would maybe look at a 650W. The Haswell-E platform is a bit more power hungry than Skylake. If you want a Corsair psu then go with the RMX and not the RM.

What resolution are you aiming to game at?

And what kind of streaming are we talking about?

Just basic streaming, every once in a while, and resolution I'm not really caring about, at least 1080p of course

Your CPU and platform configuration is way too much for just gaming and streaming.

Here's an example of a solid 1080P performer.

I'm big into gaming though and i5 just seems to low for me, maybe an i7, just not the 5820k? And what if I went with 1440p?

Gaming isn't all that intensive on CPU. It's very intensive on the GPU, at most times.

Core i7s are recommended for people who do a lot of heavy multitasking, or run very multi-threaded workloads. Gaming is none of that.

The build will hold fine still for 1440P, but you can also bump up the R9 390 to an R9 390X.

Overclocking isn't worth the money you'll pay for all the overclocking grade components. And it'll hardly pay in a gaming oriented build, where most of the work will be put on the GPU. So just save your money there.

The RMx is the newer version of the RM and it has better internal components and a longer warranty.

Either brand of ram will be fine. You get a lifetime warranty with both.
