Alright so ill get right to it i have had issues for the past 24hrs for overclocking my FX-6300 I don't want to hear about how old the processor is and that i need to upgrade i know. But my issue is that it now no longer overclocks AT ALL after i installed a 32g ram kit (4x8g sticks) the brand is vengeance. With my old ram 2 4g sticks of crustal ballistics i was able to overclock my CPU to around 4.4ghz and had great temps. Someone please help me i can take screen shots of my bios settings if needed. If you have any questions for me please comment below.

PSU is brand new and like i said it only just stopped allowing ANY overclocking since i installed the vengence ram in quad channel.

maxing out a memory controller is fairly stressful. Try dropping down to two sicks of the 8GB and trying again.

Alternatively reduce your ram speed and try again.

Ram speed is at 1333 atm since its a old ish board. Im able to get it upto 1600 without any errors without ocing my CPU.

Hmm. Again it is important you try two dimms of the new ram and see if that lets you overclock.

You might have to increase the (aww shit I can't remember what the voltage terms are for FX... I just did this two months ago on a build for my parents...) system agent voltage. (Northbridge?)

You need to up the voltage on your CPU-NB and increase the CPU-NB clock a bit IIRC. That motherboard isn't the best either so watch all your temps.

I know every chip is different but do you have recoemnded voltages for 4ghz, 4.2ghz, and 4.4-4.5 ghz? sorry if its to much to ask.

Yea look to Benji on this one, I've only dabbled a little bit with FX chips (although I did research at the time, and know general overclocking pretty well.)

I haven't overclocked a 6300 manually but when you use 4 dimms on an FX chip the IMC gets hammered hard so increasing your voltages on the CPU-NB will help a lot.
