If you're going to be using this as your main storage drive I would either go with a WD Blue drive instead of a Black drive. But I personally would go with a Seagate Barracuda drive.

Either one should be fine, maybe have a look if one offers longer warranty. I've

had better experiences with WD than with Seagate, but there are certainly many

people out there for whom the situation is reversed. HDDs nowadays are pretty

reliable unless you get one (or a few) from an unlucky manufacturing badge

(which can happen with any manufacturer, no matter what anyone tells you).

I would say get the sshd, it is the same price so you might as well get the one with ssd cache. Both seagate and western digital makes exelent drives.

I was personally gonna get the SSHD because it has the 8GB SSD and the 64MB cache.. Plus it promises 10> second or less boottime, hmm..

what is your budget? If you want faster boot times I would go with a dedicated SSD for your OS and important programs and then have a storage drive.

No, I posted which two drives I'm going to get..

I could only afford $150 or less, for MORE storage not a SSD.

Pick one or the other please.

I'm just trying to get more information on what you want for your system. In your original post you were talking about main storage but then later on you said you liked the HDD/SSD hybrid because of the fast boot/load times.

Yeah, no problem!

So which one would you choose if you had to choose between one?

If you can get them both at the same price I would go with the HDD hybrid.

If this is going to be your boot drive then definitely get the Seagate Desktop 2 TB Solid State Hybrid. You will have much better performance and faster boot times.
