Is it worth

Tech456

So since it is tax season I decided that it was time to finally upgrade from the old n300 router http://www.amazon.com/NETGEAR-WNR3500L-Open-Source-WNR3500Lv2-Processor/dp/B002RYYZZS to a shiny AC one http://www.bestbuy.com/site/netgear-nighthawk-ac1900-wi-fi-router-with-docsis-3-0-cable-modem-black/4403100.p?id=1219755198257&skuId=4403100 with d-dos protection nice.  Its pretty much the best you can get with in reason but there is one that is slightly better with MU-MIMO http://www.bestbuy.com/site/asus-ac3100-wireless-router-with-print-server-black/4465000.p?id=1219751157713&skuId=4465000 and I know there's the speed but are there any other differences it's just that this one is 30 dollars more, well actually more like 130 since I would have to buy a modem since the C7000 doesn't have one built in http://www.amazon.com/ARRIS-SURFboard-SB6183-DOCSIS-Cable/dp/B00MA5U1FW/ref=zg_bs_284715_2 like will I notice the difference it's just I am so close to perfection here should i just take the plunge since i can still return it until June and I will be using this guy for quite awhile sine i got the n300 the like 2009 maybe idk it was a while ago and by perfection i mean its been named the Lexus of wireless routers http://www.cnet.com/products/asus-rt-ac88u-router/ one more thing does a device have support MU-MIMO or is it all on the router.

And May the fourth help you with your advice

I think this is all about what you really need. Personally I don't see a reason to upgrade from your current router. Especially so if your internet speeds don't surpass its abilities. Just a thought but is there another place you could upgrade a part. maybe more ram or a new CPU? Any of these new routers are just going to allow you too have higher speeds (if you pay more for internet) and have more things on your network.

If you do upgrade stay away from Modem router combos. Besides that its kinda a personal preference thing. If the network works, then Id keep what you have. If you think your out growing it then an AC router might be nice. I mean Im still using a N750 Dual band router myself, and I dont see me upgrading any time soon.

I just want to sit back and watch the world burn.
