My PC has a 480gb SSD and it is almost full so I was wondering what hard drive I should get for extra storage.

CPU: i9-9900k
Motherboard: MSI Carbon Pro AC
Memory: GSkill Trident Z Royal Silver 32gb
Storage: SanDisk - Ultra II 480GB 2.5" Solid State Drive

Storage: Western Digital - Blue 4TB 3.5" 5400RPM Hard Drive
Video Card: ASUS Strix GTX 1050ti 4GB
Case: Corsair - Vengeance C70 (Black) ATX Mid Tower Case

depends what you will be using the new drive for really, just dropping pictures on to or videos or would it be more to run games or programs from, also how much do you have to spend

It depends. I would personally say go for a WD Red. The performance is pretty good overall. If you need more speed, a WD Black. But yeah, in my own testing, the Red is pretty fast in comparison to the 7200 RPM drive for sequential data anyway (160MB/s for the red vs 180MB/s for the WD RE SAS drive (7200 RPM enterprise drive), both 4TB.

 

Make sure you stress test the drive using whatever utility from the manufacturer (Like for WD, it's WD lifeguard; Seatools for Seagate) and scan the whole drive with it to make sure you don't have a DOA drive.
