LOW fps MinecrafT?

I loaded up minecraft for my brother to play and i was like "whaT?" I was only getting 40-100fps with my specs. Anyone know a workaround this>

CPU bottleneck. Minecraft is pretty cpu bound.

When I played Minecraft years ago I had a Intel core duo 2 paired with a GTX 280 and pulled over 700+ fps I doubt a 7year old cpu can do better than my one right now?

Years ago Minecraft was not intensive.

games update buddy, and updates mean it can up the system requirements for that game.

Yes.

 

Edit: It's not like it's super intensive but your CPU isn't that powerful. Plus 40-100fps isn't that bad anyway.

Minecraft can run smoothly on the raspberry pi and that's a pretty crappy processor. However, it's very basic with a fraction of the features of the full version. All those features come at a price
