Hi, I was wondering if anyone could recommend some nice PC speakers under or around 200 dollars. I don't want anything huge like the Audioengine A5+ that would dominate my desk but I can deal with a generally large set. Also, a 2.1 system would be nice but if there are some nice 2.0 ones that deliver the lows that would be great.

Thanks!

I've got these: http://pcpartpicker.com/part/cyber-acoustics-speakers-ca2011wb

I don't do any audio work, just light video editing and gaming so these speakers are fine.

Here's a nice 5.1 setup: http://pcpartpicker.com/part/logitech-speakers-980000430

i7 4790k | MSI Z97S SLI Krait Edition | G.Skill Ripjaws X 16 GB | Samsung 850 EVO 500 GB | 2x Seagate Barracuda 2TB | MSI GTX 970 Twin Frozr V | Fractal Design R4 | EVGA 650W

A gaming PC for your budget: $800 - $1000 - $1500 - $1800 - $2600 - $9001

Can't go wrong with Logitech. i have a pair of Z213's and they're perfect for gaming and music.

yes you can because not all people likes the same kind of sound as you do.

ps. Logitech speakers are bad vaule for the sound quality you get.

OP the best sound for your money will come from speakers that is about the same size as the a5+. Some of the best vaule speakers are the JBL lsr 305, but if I remember correctly they are over your budget. I will come back later to day and suggest some speakers.

Before you buy amp and dac.  My thoughts on the M50x  Ultimate Ears Reference monitor review I might have a thing for audio...

DAC and AMP: RME ADI 2 DAC

Speakers: Genelec 8040, System Audio SA205

Receiver: Denon AVR-1612

Desktop: R7 1700, GTX 1080  RX 580 8GB and other stuff

Laptop: ThinkPad P50: i7 6820HQ, M2000M. ThinkPad T420s: i7 2640M, NVS 4200M
