Best CPU cooler?

ZacMelendez

I have a ThermalTake Core V31 with a MSI Z97 Gaming 5 and a 4690k, and need a new CPU cooler. My case only allows a max height of 155mm on a CPU cooler, so what are your guys ideas? I don't want to spend more than about $50

I have 4790k and I got a htper 612 ver2. I OC'd to 4.6 no prob, however you need a full sized case and make sure it fits. You can get them for 35.00 on ebay.

The Cryorig H7 is only 145mm tall and generally performs better than the Hyper 212 Evo.

Looks like it's a choking hazard, so just don't use it to cool any toddlers.

Yeah I was looking at those but are those worth the ~$45-50 price point?

Depends which one. NH-D15 and NH-U14S are 165mm tall, even the U12S is 158mm, so too tall (barely).

I also saw that one too. It looks good and seems to have good reviews. I came here first just to see other people's opinions.

The low profile one probably not for your case scenario (overclockable CPU) but if u can get normal size heatsink (not sure if they are within your height limit) then noctuas are worth it especially for their silent proframnce and quality. They are ugly though so it's personal preference :D

In our house there are two 4690Ks running H7s.  At stock or with mild over clocks they are fine.

Not really enough for serious over clocks though.
