So I am planning on building my own computer for gaming and video editing, and this is the build I have so far:
My build

The 850w power supply may seem overkill but I am planning on adding SLI for my 980ti sometime in the future. I also want to overclock my cpu and both my gpus that I would have. Would the 850w be enough for a overclock with a noticeable improvement? Or could I get away with a smaller one?

I also plan on adding another monitor later, the same one listed in the build it would be a 1440p monitor instead, (streetguru made some good points). I have all my peripherals besides my keyboard which I plan on buying at a later date as well. My budget for this is no more than $2000.

A 980ti would be completely wasted on a 1080p display, so get a better display with a mid range GPU

and you should be going with a 5820K over a 6700K

Dual GPUs isn't going to be worth it either, buy a 4k or 1440p 144hz display before that, could still fit one in here that would be free-sync

This one's a 4k 27" IPS free-sync display, though a 32" or larger 4k display would be better for productivity

This one's 1440p 144hz IPS would be better for gaming at $550

But if he is going for a 4k display, won't the 390 be to less to run it on 60 fps (games)??

You'd be running games at 1080p which scales will with 4k, but games likes CS:GO or Dota you could run at 4k.

It's better to buy a high end display before a high end GPU, because GPUs are always changing and new ones come out way more often than display technology.

Right now Polaris/pascal look to launch in june, and the recent rumor going around is that the 490/X is nearly as fast as a 980ti for the same price point at around 300/400, which, who knows, with 14nm AMD is finally on a decently small size

Okay so I changed the monitor that I would later add to 1440p. I am probably going to get another monitor before I SLI my gpu, but when I game I would only game on one monitor so I still want the 1080p monitor to start out with because I am trying to budget right now. I'm still wondering if the PSU would be good enough to handle a dual 980ti and cpu overclock.
