Secondary HD issue

I've had my current setup from september last year, so both the Hard drive(Western Digital 2TB Green) and the power supply (EVGA Supernova G2 850w) aren't a year old yet.

Today for some reason some time after booting(usually 10-15m) my PC my Hard drive(which is the secondary after my SSD) will dissapear without a trace, if I was playing any game from it my PC will hard crash with a blue screen.

I haven't installed anything recently.
I have replaced the SATA cables and it hasn't helped, I need advice on this.

try a different sata port

and try checking "create and format disk partitions" in windows to see if it detects it

hey try replugging then again hard drive are not very reliable

No, the 15minutes are referring to the time it takes for the hard drive to dissapear

I'll try and change the port, and it doesn't unless I restart but it disapears after 15m, during that time I can access my files and everything on my HDD without any problems

download crystal disk info, see what it says about that drive

Checked your SATA cable? Check close to the connector if there are wires springing out

i do have one its 250 gbs i store all my games there and one my 3tb hd i have windows

Loading time vs booting time ..fight!

 

Booting time wins..especially if its as ridiculous as 45 mins (unless you're trolling all along; then hats off )

 

Switch the OS over to the SSD? I have a 20yr old system with XP on a pentium 4 and a Maxtor (!) which boots faster....

Sigh, first time something broke so quickly wasn't expecting this at all.

 

Not sure what to do though, I have 1.5TB of data there with no means of doing a backup unless I buy a new HDD.....which feels like beating the point

Look your SSD is 240 gigs...manage the space in that well ..or just spend 30 dollars for an Adata SSD (120gig) .

i suggest you purchase a 2nd 2TB drive and back it up

then send your drives in, there's no other way to retain your data AFAIK

 

unless your warranty covers it

 

please watch this before you take action
