Wake up computer for Windows Backup

Guest Kefuren
Go to solution Solved by GoodBytes,

To do what you want, you need to have a BIOS that supports turning on the system by alarm.

If you do have  such option, turn it on, and set it at the time when you want the computer to turn on, and it will do so.

I'd like to wake up the computer when it's shut down for scheduled Windows Backup. I know how to do it from sleep, but how can I do it from complete power off?

And if that's not possible, is there a free alternative to Windows Backup that could start the pc up and shut it down after the backup is complete, that could also do a backup of an entire disk (preferably a disk image)?

Hmph, will have to see if a few laptops support that... Kinda doubtful about it.

Well, anyway, will try it.
