Motherboard Upgrade!

I am in need of upgrading my motherboard. I need to upgrade my motherboard since for some reasson it limits the velocity of the RAM and my just looks old.

Budget: 150

 

Specs:

CPU: Intel i5 3450 3.1 GHZ

GPU: Sapphire  R9 280X Vapor-X

RAM: Hyper-x Beast 8gb 1866 CL9

Motherboard: Asus P8H77-M PRO/CM6870

PSU: Thermaltake 750W

Case: Corsair C70

Why don't you use only 1 thread instead of creating many?

You're going to need to go used to find a motherboard for your chip. Also, RAM speed doesn't really make an impact on real world performance.

Basically you're looking for a Z77 board most likely.  And no, it won't make anything go faster.  The H77 does not 'limit' performance in any way when it comes to the RAM.  A H77 and a Z77 board with identical RAM and CPU will benchmark identically (within a small statistical margin of error).

 

eBay should have Z77 boards at your price point.

There is nothing rong with that motherboard. An less you don't like the look of the board. Rather save the money for new rig later on down the line.
