So I was thinking about buying a new Smartphone this summer because mine is already very old and sometimes freezes for a few minutes or works extremely slow. (It´s a Samsung Galaxy Fame)

My budget is around 150-200€ (169-226$ approx) so I was looking for advice since I really don't know much about phones.

Requirements:

  • Durable battery.
  • No more than ~5 inches big.
  • MicroSD slot for additional storage capacity.
  • 1GB of RAM minimum.
  • White or Silver color preferably, not black.
  • As few preinstalled Google Apps as possible (you know, the ones you can't uninstall without rooting).
  • Must be Asus or Samsung.

Things I'm not really looking for and would avoid to lower the price:

  • Camera quality.
  • Expensive screen resolution.
  • 4G support.
  • Internal storage.

I use my phone for regular tasks: Whatsapp, browsing the web and seeing documents.I don't plan on using it for games nor big requirements apps.

Any ideas? :P

As always, thanks beforehand ^^

why samsung or asus

Personal preference. I find them very hardy and I like their designs. Also because I don't trust chinese brands, Apple is not an option due to extremely high prices.

Then why not Acer or HTC for example? As I said, personal preference and trust. As I said my actual phone is very old (4+ years) and still works almost as the first day (I may have dropped it around a hundred times), something I believe I couldn't have achieved with other product's phones.

I would say Moto G for sure.

(Even the dirty ultra cheap options (prepaid ones) are great cheap smartphones for the price.)

Zenfone Max, Zenfone Laser, Zenfone Selfie, Zenfone 2, choose yourself XD! Zenfone Max boasts incredible battery life (5000 mAh) in a leather body with a good display even if its 720p. Sadly its a Qualcomm 410, probably laggs on Boombeach even, but meh its a great battery life phone that costs less than 200€.
