That's plenty of room. Not sure how reliable is that PSU though.

500-600 watt should be more than enough for your new video card

If you are on a tight budget this should do well for you:

DO NOT USE THAT. The +12V rails can only output around 230W - and that's split unevenly - you are HIGHLY likely to burn out the system

It will definitely work fine, I've had bullshit crappy ass chinese PSUs on *60 cards without any issues.

That PSU has less than 150W for the GPU total

We just refer to no name/unknown brand PSUs, similar to the ones you find in pre-builts, as grey units. At least I do.

8A on the +12V1 and 14A on +12V2 - dangerous as fuck

That is in no way a 550W PSU - it's more like 300W at best

That's the thing, if it was rated from a reliable brand, then yes- I'd go for it.

But it's not and looking at the power listings it won't even be able to power a 950 fully without danger. The OP is running a VERY high risk

but are you sure i wouldnt be able to run it? my cpu isnt the most hungry one either.

A system without a GPU uses around 100-120W. The 960 uses 120W at stock and 140W in the real world due to GPU Boost 2.0
Your PSU can provide around 230W before giving in. 230 < 240
