Putty Questions

Go to solution Solved by RedWulf,

when you're in vi

if you're in insert/edit mode hit esc

then hit :

this is the "command line" of vi

then type "set number" and enter

Hey guys, I was wondering how I get vim to show the line numbers on the side in puTTy.

When I SSH into a directory for my labs it has the line numbers and automatically tabs

when I'm inside something like an if statement for example.  The only thing I've been able

to find is to use :set number but I have no idea where to set that.  Any help is appreciated

Edit: found setnum but haven't figured out the tabbing
