It's my first build and everything seemed to go as planned. Everything loads up, everything is recognized except for my SSD. I asked a friend about it, he said his SSD didn't show up at first but it eventually did. So naturally I wasn't worried about it. Then I downloaded a few games and tried out Counter Strike expecting to destroy such a game with a GTX 970, I was taken back when I saw myself jumping between 50 and 90 fps. I thought  it was a drivers issue, nope. Couldn't be that simple. I have no idea what the issue could be. Here are my specs.

Kingston HyperX Savage 240GB SSD

AMD FX-8370 Black Edition 8 Core CPU Processor AM3+ 4300Mhz 125W 16MB FD8370FRHKBOX

MSI 970 GAMING DDR3 2133 ATX AMD Motherboard

EVGA GeForce GTX 970 4GB SC GAMING ACX 2.0, 26% Cooler and 36% Quieter Cooling Graphics Card 04G-P4-2974-KR

Crucial Ballistix Sport 16GB Kit (8GBx2) DDR3 1600 MT/s (PC3-12800) UDIMM Memory BLS2KIT8G3D1609DS1S00/ BLS2CP8G3D1609DS1S00

Seagate Desktop HDD 2000GB

Corsair CX Series, CX750M, 750 Watt (750W) , Semi Modular Power Supply, 80+ Bronze Certified

Windows 8.1

Any help is appreciated.

for your gpu:

i suggest downloading msi afterburner and monitor cpu (individual cores) and gpu usage, as well as gpu core clock

might be a bottlenecking issue

for the ssd:

make sure everything is plugged in correctly, then go to "create and format hard disk partitions"

see if you can see it there

-sigh- feeling like I'm being too negative lately

That solved my SSD issue, and I installed MSI afterburner and it showed my power % was just maxed out and everything else was flatlined, I have no idea how to remedy the problem.

maybe post the screenshot of msi afterburner here when the game is running, and i'll try and see what the problem is

Hey, sorry for not replying. School kept me busy and I ran into an issue when I tried overclocking my gpu it would freeze and the displays would crash. It was pretty soul destroying. Anyways I'm not sure what you can get out of that screenshot or what you wanted specifically. But anything at this point is still appreciated.
